Jeroboam refers to an extra-large bottle format containing 3 litres (equivalent to four standard bottles). Jeroboams are primarily used for prestigious wines (particularly Bordeaux and Burgundy) for special occasions or collector showcases. Very few wines are produced in Jeroboam format; availability is limited. Jeroboams command premium prices and are status symbols in wine collecting. They age exceptionally well due to minimal oxygen exposure relative to size.
WHY IT MATTERS FOR COLLECTORS
Jeroboams are rare, prestigious bottles appealing to serious collectors with significant budgets. These bottles age magnificently and are spectacular for important occasions.
