The columns no spreadsheet carries

After import, Saignée enriches every wine with the data that actually drives decisions — most importantly the drinking window, so you know what to open tonight and what to hold.

  • Drinking window

When each bottle enters and leaves its peak — the field that drives Saignée's alerts.

  • Region & appellation

Normalised region and appellation, even when your export only had a name.

  • Varietal

Grape variety (or blend) inferred from the wine and producer.

  • Type

Red, white, rosé, or sparkling, for filtering and pairing.

  • Expert rating

    A critic-style score and a one-line tasting note.

CellarTracker import — questions answered

Will my tasting notes and scores come over?

Yes. Map the Tasting Notes, My Score, and Location/Bin columns during import and Saignée keeps them — your notes attach to each bottle, your score becomes your personal rating (and seeds your taste profile so recommendations aren't cold), and the bin location is preserved. On top of that, every wine is enriched with a fresh drinking window, region, varietal, and expert rating.

How long does importing a large CellarTracker cellar take?

Uploading is instant. Imports of up to 25 wines are enriched on the spot while you watch. Anything larger runs as a background batch — you can leave the page and we send a notification when it's ready to review, usually within a few minutes to a couple of hours.

Is Saignée free to try?

Yes — the free Taster tier lets you import and track a starter cellar (10 bottles, 25 AI import lookups a month) with no credit card. Collector raises that to 50,000 bottles and 500 import lookups a month, and Connoisseur to 6,000.
