Napa Valley is California's most famous wine region and the New World's benchmark for Cabernet Sauvignon. Its warm, sunny climate and diverse soils — across sub-AVAs from valley floor to mountain slopes — yield rich, ripe, full-bodied Cabernet of cassis, black cherry, cocoa and cedar, with velvety tannins and lavish oak. Napa also makes opulent Chardonnay, Merlot and Cabernet-based blends, and is home to many of America's cult wines.
