Gewürztraminer is the most flamboyant of white grapes — intensely perfumed, exotic and unmistakable. It overflows with lychee, rose petal, ginger and Turkish delight, with a rich, oily body and low acidity. Alsace is its heartland, making powerful dry and lusciously sweet versions; its pink skins give deep gold colour and heady aromatics that you either adore or find overwhelming.
