Greco is an ancient Campanian white of Greek origin, most famous as Greco di Tufo. Structured and mineral, it gives wines of peach, citrus, green apple and a distinctive sulphur-and-flint minerality from the volcanic 'tufo' soils, with firm acidity and a faintly grippy, almost tannic texture. One of southern Italy's most serious and age-worthy whites.
Structure
| Body | Greco's thick skins and structure give it an almost phenolic grip unusual in white wine. Grown on the sulphurous volcanic tufa around Tufo, it shows pronounced minerality. Its acidity and structure allow it to age and to handle richer foods than most whites. |
