Muscat is the most aromatic grape family of all — and uniquely, the one that actually smells and tastes of grapes. It spans bone-dry Alsace whites, lightly sweet Muscat d'Alsace, and a galaxy of sweet styles from fortified Muscat de Beaumes-de-Venise to Australia's treacly Rutherglen Muscat. Orange blossom, rose, ripe grape and honeysuckle define it across every guise.
