Touriga Nacional is Portugal's noblest red, the backbone of great Port and increasingly of powerful dry Douro reds. Deeply coloured and intensely aromatic, it offers blackberry, violet, bergamot and mountain herbs, with formidable tannin and structure. Whether fortified or dry, it produces concentrated, floral, age-worthy wines of real distinction.
Structure
| Body | Low-yielding and thick-skinned, it gives small berries of great concentration. In Port it adds floral aromatics and grip to the blend; as a dry wine from the schist terraces of the Douro it makes bold, structured reds that age for decades. |

Touriga Nacional — questions answered
Is Touriga Nacional only used for Port?

Why is Touriga Nacional so aromatic?
It is naturally intense in floral compounds, giving violet and bergamot notes alongside dark fruit and herb.
Does it age well?
